چکیده

In this paper, a numerical method in order to study the fluid dynamics of diphasic flows evolving in micro channels is presented. These flows are characterized by the predominance of the interfacial phenomenons because of the surface tension effects. Technically, the Stokes equations are solved for the hydrodynamic part and the interface is moved thanks to the level set method introduced by Osher and Sethian. The results are compared with experimental data and the three dimensional effects are commented. We present in detail the numerical techniques that are used.

Determination of Thermal Resistance in Three-Dimensional Analysis of Micro-Channel Heat Sink with Non - Newtonian Fluids

Micro-Channel Heat Sink is a heat exchanger which is used to control the temperature of electronic devices with high heat flux. A comprehensive thermal model for the micro-channels should include three dimensional conduction analysis in the solid body together with three dimensional developing fluid flow as well as heat transfer analyses in the fluid section. This paper reports on a research ...

Combination of Adaptive-Grid Embedding and Redistribution Methods on Semi Structured Grids for two-dimensional invisid flows

Among the adaptive-grid methods, redistribution and embedding techniques have been the focus of more attention by researchers. Simultaneous or combined adaptive techniques have also been used. This paper describes a combination of adaptive-grid embedding and redistribution methods on semi-structured grids for two-dimensional invisid flows. Since the grid is semi-structured, it is possible to us...

On stability condition for bifluid flows with surface tension: Application to microfluidics

Models for incompressible immiscible bifluid flows with surface tension are here considered. Since Brackbill, Kothe and Zemach (J. Comput. Phys. 100, pp 335354, 1992) introduced the Continuum Surface Force (CSF) method, many methods involved in interface tracking or capturing are based on this reference work. Particularly, the surface tension term is discretized explicitly and therefore, a stab...

Three dimensional static and dynamic analysis of thick plates by the meshless local Petrov-Galerkin (MLPG) method under different loading conditions

In this paper, three dimensional (3D) static and dynamic analysis of thick plates based on the Meshless Local Petrov-Galerkin (MLPG) is presented. Using the kinematics of a three-dimensional continuum, the local weak form of the equilibrium equations is derived. A weak formulation for the set of governing equations is transformed into local integral equations on local sub-domains by using a uni...
